A collaborative project is one of my favourite ways to work and this project was lovely to work on as it was a local community based arts project. I was asked to create a flyer, social and map promotion for a trail through a local park. The brief was to create a concept and illustrations based on traditional folk tales and designs which worked for all ages and genders. The client didn't want the designs to look too obvious as the trail involves spotting secret doors along an audio journey.
There was a scenic artist hired for the project who created the physical doors for the trail. I used their initial drawings and the wooden hinges and windows as inspiration for my illustrations. I thought it was key to utilise the actual doors and create a link between the promo and the trail.
